Would I get your attention if I knew of a magic potion that could potentially rid you of your arthritic pains, improve your cholesterol levels, improve your sex life or have anti-aging effects? What is this potion I am referring to? It’s Antioxidants, a family of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.


I am sure you have seen or heard the word anti-oxidants. But what are antioxidants? They counteract or prevent the damaging effects of oxidation in tissues. Research has shown they support many functions and structures of the human body including the skin, recovery from trauma, immune system and to help counteract the effects of aging.


As I get older, I am noticing my body does not work they way it once did. Most people I talk to about the aging process and its side effects, say “that is part of life.” But does it have to be? What if you could slow this process?

Not too long ago I came across an article that discussed the overall health of Americans. To summarize, ‘we are the most over fed, under nourished country in the world.’ How can that be? What about these packaging labels that say fat free, heart healthy or lower calories?


You might say to yourself, “I’ll be fine if I eat more fruits and vegetables.” While fruits and vegetables are still packed with more nutrition per calorie than any other foods, they aren’t as powerful as they once were.


Today’s inorganic produce has lower nutrient content than 45-50 years ago, largely because of depleted soil conditions.
